Veterinarian

Osceola Veterinary Clinic is a 5-doctor mixed animal practice looking to add another associate veterinarian to our team! Less than 40 minutes from Des Moines, we serve countless clientele in South Central Iowa. We have provided personalized care for companion animals, livestock, and horses for over 75 years and welcome DVMs of all experience levels to join this one-of-a-kind team. For new graduates, we will happily offer customized and structured mentorship tailored to your interests!

Our practice is busy with a steady workload. We are goal-oriented and motivated, always looking to improve ourselves and our medicine. Veterinary Technician

Osceola Veterinary Clinic is a mixed animal practice in Southern Iowa, meeting the needs of pets, livestock & horses. We’ve been serving pets and their owners for 75 years! When you bring your pet to our veterinarian clinic, you’re trusting their health and care to the very best the Osceola area has to offer.

Our practice is excited to add another Veterinary Technician to our team! We are looking for an individual who is good at communicating, organization, and multi-tasking, and who is ready to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate would have at least 1-2 years’ previous experience in veterinary medicine.

Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm; Saturdays 8:00 am-12:00 pm

Essential Functions:

  • Able to perform basic animal handling and restraint
  • Be able to accurately position for radiographs
  • Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery
  • Perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs
  • Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights as well as providing client education
  • Collect and prepare diagnostic samples
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Assist in maintaining practice equipment
  • Assist veterinarian performing surgery
  • Assist veterinarians in any other assigned tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness of surgery suite, treatment area, and exams rooms for all surfaces
  • Support DEA compliance as it relates to the role
  • Any other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary medicine experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
  • Computer skills, MS office applications, etc.

Expected hours: 38 per week

CSR

Caring for Pets, Livestock & Horses for over 75 years!

Our practice is excited to expand to our team! We are looking for a CSR who is has great communication skills (both written & oral), significant customer service experience, and preferably previous experience in vet med.

CSR $15-17 DOE

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm & Saturday 8:00am – 12:00pm
*Must be available to work two Saturdays a month**

Position Purpose

Reporting into the Practice Manager, the Client Service Representative (CSR), provides an exceptional experience to our clients during every interaction. In addition to continually engaging the client, the CSR performs practice administrative tasks such as record maintenance and appointment tracking. The CSR manages practice reception (visitor and telephone), maintenance of veterinary medical records, accounts maintenance, cash processing, data entry, word processing and mail services. The CSR applies practical knowledge of practice processes and services, the basic rules and regulations governing visitors and animal patient treatment, and veterinary record requirements and terminology to ensure every patient is well-cared for and every client has an exceptional experience.

Client Service Representative Competencies

· Patience & Compassion: Remaining professional while still making Doctors, teammates, clients, and patients feel as comfortable as possible regardless of the situation or challenges presented.

· Collaboration & Teamwork: Carefully coordinating actions with practice team members. Quickly incorporating feedback to ensure positive results. Sharing ideas and being open to other’s ideas.

· Communicating: Conveying patient visit outcomes to clients and teammates to ensure successful client care, applying excellent written and verbal skills.

· Active Listening: Following the expressed wishes of teammates and clients.

· Client Satisfaction: Ensuring all activities and interactions result in the highest level of client satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities

· Leads practice opening and closing procedures per Practice Manager instructions and practice procedures.

· Ensures all public areas are clean and presentable for patients; cleans and straightens areas including the front desk, reception area, waiting area, office, public bathroom(s) and exam rooms.

· Processes cash, checks, charge card payments and credit account payments.

· Schedules appointments for the clinic adhering to practice and Doctor preferences and ensure appropriate workflow.

· Assists in the updating of client/patient files, as needed.

· Prepares and sends client correspondence.

· Sends reminder notices to clients for periodic notifications; conducts re-calls to clients on a timely basis from a call back list.

· Performs a backup of the computer system on a regular basis, as directed.

· Performs and oversees the performance of posting daily business.

· Welcomes clients and patients to the practice with a warm and friendly demeanor and ensures an excellent experience during the practice visit.

· Answers incoming telephone calls applying proper telephone etiquette.

· Presents clients with medications, instructions, new client kits and any other take home items.

· Handles emergency situations with great care, patience, and following established clinic policies and procedures.

· Addresses client concerns in a calm and appropriate manner, ensuring every experience ends in satisfaction.

Requirements / Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Previous veterinary experience preferred

· Previous reception experience required
